With the development of 5G mobile communication technology, how to apply 5G communication technology to power system has become a difficult problem. In this regard, the purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the application of 5G communication technology in some specific environments of power system under the background of rapid development of 5G communication technology. In this paper, the advantages and characteristics of 5G mobile communication technology are objectively described. It also analyzes the specific application of 5G mobile communication technology in the power system from the three aspects of Internet of things, 5G communication technology and cloud life, explores the application situation and application prospect of 5G mobile communication technology in the power communication system from multiple perspectives, promotes its deepening development while flexibly and effectively applying 5G mobile communication technology, and comprehensively improves the power communication in the process of maximizing efficiency System operation efficiency and benefit. Especially based on the expectation that China's future economy will still maintain a relatively rapid growth and there is still a large gap between power supply and demand in the short term.
