Abstract
3S (Remote Sensing, Global Position System, and Geographical Information System) technology can be applied in regional landslide forecast. This paper discusses these new technologies and methods applied in landslide forecast. RS (Remote Sensing) technology can accurately provide source data of different periods in time. Depending on its strong function of spatial analysis and spatial database management, GIS (Geographical Information System) technology can pick up the basic factors of landslide quickly and efficiently. GPS (Global Position System) technology can provide convenient and exact means for landslide inspection. In this paper the authors used the Yunyang to Wushan segment of the Three Gorges Reservoir area as an example and analyzed the application of 3S technology in landslide forecast in detail.
