Abstract

This study aims to investigate the extent of use of scientific problem solving processes and techniques by primary school administrators in organizational cases with the help of provincial educational inspectors’ views. The universe of the study is composed of 310 provincial educational inspectors in the city of Istanbul and the sample of the study consists of 165 provincial educational inspectors selected through “random sampling” in 2010-2011 educational year. According to the findings of the study it was found that the primary school administrators did not have sufficient knowledge related to the contribution of the implementation of the phases of the problem solving process to the solution of the problem. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that primary school administrators did not have adequate competence levels related to the implementation of scientific problem solving techniques to organizational problems.
