Methods A total of 80 cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in Anhui No.2 Provincial People's Hospital from January of 2017 to January of 2018 were selected by convenience sampling and randomly divided into the control group (n=40) and observation group (n=40) . Conventional diet instruction was given in the control group while the nurse participated individualized nutrition intervention was adopted for the observation group, the two groups were compared in terms of their nutritional status and quality of life. Results Six months after intervention, the albumin (64.81±4.73) ng/L, transferrin (29.89±4.11) ng/L, hemoglobin (111.56±8.41) ng/L, lymphocyte count (1.71±0.63) ×109/L in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t=8.112, 3.099, 2.862, 2.138; P 0.05) . After 6 months of intervention, the incidence of adverse events in blood system, gastrointestinal system, bone marrow suppression and liver injury in the observation group were better than those in the control group with a statistical difference (P<0.01) .
