Abstract

AbstractThe unidirectional fluxes between phosphoarginine and ATP were determined by 31P NMR saturation transfer on in vitro preparation of anterior byssus retractor muscles of Mytilus edulis. The forward and reverse fluxes are comparable and it is deduced that the arginine kinase reaction is near equilibrium for these resting muscles.
