Abstract

The technique of Few has been applied to the measurement of cortisol secretion rate by isotopic dilution. 17 determinations have been done using this method and the one, more classical, of De Witt and coll., which measures the specific activity of tetrahydrocortisol only and has been used as reference. The differences never exceeded 12%. As regards reproducibility, the two methods, appear to give similar results. The technique of Few is sensitivite, rapid and reproducible (standard error ± 3.2%). It seems convenient for the measurement of cortisol secretion rate in clinical routine.
