Abstract

Objective To research the application of PICC (Periphendly Inserted Central Catheter) about puncture time,indwelling time,cure situation,and comparison of frequency of syndrome application on long & medium time vein channels and retaining needle for low weight infants.MethodsPICC or retaining needle was respectively used on 40 cases of vein nutrition support for low weight infant,foreground research and detail record on the clinic materials on low infants with PICC in NICU form January 2007 to October 2008 with statistical analyzing.ResultsThe puncture time of PICC group was longer than that of retaining needle group and the indwelling time of PICC group was longer than what of retaining needle group (P<0.05) .ConclusionsPICC avoids the ill stimulation of repetitive around vein puncture for infants.
