Abstract

The accuracy of 21 approximations of temperature integral used for heating processes was checked for cooling processes, like crystallization from melt of polymers. For cooling processes, the deviations of the considered approximations of temperature integral relative to the numerical solution are evaluated, and some recommendations are proposed. The errors involved in the determination of effective activation energy for crystallization from melt of poly(ethylene terephthalate) when different approximations of temperature integral (compared with the values calculated on the basis of numerical solution of this integral, taken as the exact or correct solution) are evaluated.
