Abstract
Solubility data of polymers are useful in solving various problems in liquid chromatography. Experimental data on polymer solubility is however, scarce due to manual and labour intensive measurement procedures. Application of a new continuous measurement procedure enables convenient, rapid and nonsubjective measurement of cloud point data of polymers. The cloud points of polyethylene, polypropylene and poly-1-butene in binary mixtures of solvents have been determined. Furthermore the cloud point temperatures of polyethylene in various solvents have been measured.
