Abstract

Demand Responsive Transport systems (DRTs) will be effective for fewer demand cases, and adopt in low density areas in Japan recently. However, DRTs are also expected to adopt in urban areas especially for mobility handicapped people. In this paper, the authors introduced the Japanese experience of adopting DRTs in Urban Areas, and showed the group raised their mobility by DRTs. In addition, we indicate the suitable operation type of DRTs with considering the arrangement of Meeting Points and the demand of DRTs. Finally, we tried to consider the suitable number of users for adopting DRTs in densely-populated areas.
