Abstract
This section of the book Traditional Folk Song in Modern Japan Sources, Sentiment and Society presents appendix 2 which contains six subdivisions; Main min'yō sakaba (folk song bars) in Tokyo, Main min'yō sakaba (folk song bars) in the Osaka area, Umbrella organizations of min'yō groups, Record shops, Further events information and Okinawan min'yō sakaba and information in Tokyo and Osaka. The Japanese say that 'folk song is the heart's home town'. Traditional folk songs (min'yō) from the countryside are strongly linked to their places of origin and continue to play a role there.
