Abstract

The magnetic phase diagram of CeP has been investigated by neutron diffraction under high pressures up to 5.6 GPa. Above 3 GPa, the ground state becomes ferromagnetic, then the Ce moment starts to decrease rapidly from ≈1.9 μ B (3 GPa) to ≈1.0 μ B (5 GPa). At 5.6 GPa, no magnetically ordered Ce moment could be detected.
