Abstract

Apparent molar volumes (V Φ ) and viscosities (η) of aqueous solutions of uni-univalent mixed electrolytes with a common cation (Na + ) have been determined as a function of fraction of ionic strength due to the first electrolyte in the mixture of two electrolytes at 293.15, 303.15 and 313.15 K. The activation thermodynamic quantities (Δμ 0# 2 , ΔS 0# 2 and ΔH 0H 2 ) of viscous flow for aqueous solutions of uni-univalent mixed electrolyte systems have been calculated at 293.15, 303.15 and 313.15 K. The results of the study reveal that the uni-univalent mixed electrolytes behave as structure makers in aqueous solutions. The conclusions in regard to ion-ion and ion-solvent interactions have been derived on the basis of the values of constants of Masson's and Jones-Dole equations.
