Abstract

The densities of aqueous mixtures of MgCl 2 + Mg(NO 3) 2 and SrCl 2 + Sr(NO 3) 2 were determined at 298.15 K at constant molality ratios. The mean apparent molar volumes were calculated and found to fit the extended form of the Friedman equation with additional terms in ionic strength. The excess and partial molar volumes were derived. The results obtained were interpreted in terms of ion-ion interaction and Friedman's volume interaction parameters.
