Abstract

This paper presents the results obtained on measuring the apparent activation energies of hardening reactions in unsaturated polyesters running on using various monosubstituted and 1,1′-disubstituted ferrocene derivatives as accelerators. It has been found that the apparent activation energies of these reactions can be correlated with the literature values of quarter-wave potentials E 1 4 for individual ferrocene derivatives. On the contrary the activation energies have not been found in any relation to the relative molecular masses of the accelerators concerned.
