Abstract

A number of instruments, for instance the magnetograph H046, has been manufactured to record infralow-frequency processes. However, instruments of such type have sufficiently large dimensions, mass, cost, energy consumption, and are not always accessible=to a broad circle of consumers, especially under field operating conditions. A simple unit is described below, which in combination with an everyday (or any other) magnetic tape recorder permits the recording of infralow-frequency processes on magnetic tape with subsequent multiple reproduction. The operating principle of the apparatus is based on transferral of the infralow-frequency oscillation spectrum to the audio frequency domain by amplitude modulation with subsequent demodulation during reproduction.
