Abstract

An electro-mechanical shaker apparatus (10) utilizing a novel design. The shaker apparatus (10) includes an armature frame (30) which is directly coupled to an armature coil (20) to form an integrated unit. The shortened height of the unit effectively raises telescoping resonant frequencies above the spectrum of test frequencies. The armature frame (30) is comprised of a top plate (51), bottom plate (52), and an intermediate section (53) to form a laminated/honey-combed design. The top and bottom plates (51, 52) have a higher modulus of elasticity, while the intermediate section (53) has a lower mass density, which effectively raises bending resonant frequencies above the spectrum test frequencies.
