Abstract

1. An apparatus for investigating the kinetics of rapid reactions in solution by the stopped-jet method, permitting the recording of reactions with half-conversion times greater than 1 msec according to the change in the optical density in the ultraviolet or visible region, was described. The jet portion is made as an attachment to an SF-4 spectrophotometer. 2. An example of measurement of the rate of complex formation between molybdate and propyl gallate on this apparatus was cited.
