Abstract

Methods for calculating the mean molecular mass (MM) from the density are analyzed. The density ρ of crude oils was determined experimentally as a function of proton spin–lattice (T1H) and spin–spin relaxation times (T2H). The dependences of MMs on times T1,2H were calculated from the obtained correlations. A comparison of the experimental and theoretical functions MM(T2H) showed that the relaxation times allowed rapid determination of the MM.
