Abstract

Following the first quarter of the twentieth century, a modernist period began in the Modern Arabic Literature. In the course of this new period a new poetic school was established by Ahmad Abu Shadi and his friends. This poetic school made sizable contributions to the modern Arabic poetry. This paper examines the aims of the Apollo society and its contributions to the modern Arabic poetry. In addition to the biographies of the poets of this literary society, examples of their poems are examined.
