Abstract

This work presents a comparison among three data analysis techniques and their application to the study of wind waves: Fourier spectrum, wavelet and Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT). Several examples are developed using synthetic free surface elevation data, emphasizing nonstationary and non linear properties, and their respective spectral analysis.
