Abstract
Aplasia cutis congenita is usually observed on the scalp as a small area devoid of skin. Its association with a number of congenital malformations is well documented. Extensive aplasia cutis congenita, together with cerebral atrophy, was present in a girl with spastic paralysis and mental retardation. The cerebral atrophy is interpreted as the counterpart of the cutaneous lesion.
