Abstract
API RP 571: Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry appears in all three ICP BoKs. It developed from old IRE (Inspection of Refinery Equipment) documents and has swelled in technical detail with each new edition. The 2020 edition now describes 67 DMs over 370+ pages and so contains huge amounts of technical detail.
