Abstract

The study of potential aphrodisiacs has made it possible to di­vide them into several categories, and these may relate to their action on both libido and other aspects of sexual ac­ti­vi­ty. While some aphrodisiacs may fall into distinct clas­si­fi­ca­tion groups, others may fall into several categories at the same time. These substances, be they vitamins or aro­ma­tic substances, have been attributed with the ability to induce a modulation of passion that could stimulate ero­tic behaviour, turning sexuality into a true art. However, the effect of aphrodisiacs is dependent on the individual’s health, lifestyle and the harmony of the couple’s life. From this point of view, it could be said that the best aphro­di­siac for a couple is a mix of love, trust, spontaneity and a balanced diet. A balanced diet, in such cases, can be de­fined as a diet which, on the one hand, maintains or helps to achieve good health and, on the other, boosts the pa­ra­me­ters which define the quality of the individual’s sexual life.
