Abstract

The following are abstracts of original research being presented at APhA2011, March 25–28, 2010, Seattle, WA. Inquiries specific to the research should be directed to the presenting author, indicated in the abstracts by underlined name. The 2011 abstracts are grouped into the following themes to better facilitate review by specific topic or interest area: adherence and compliance, cardiovascular, communication, diabetes, geriatrics and long-term care, health disparities and cultural issues, health literacy, health care provider teams, HIV/AIDS, immunization, marketing and management, medication reconciliation, medication safety, mental health, MTM, nuclear, OTC/self-care/CAM, patient attitudes and behavior, patient care services implementation and evaluation, patient education, pharmacist behaviors and attitudes, pharmacoeconomics/outcomes, quality measures, respiratory, specialty, technology evaluation, women's health, workforce/manpower, and additional topics.APhA is especially proud to note this year's presented papers from current student pharmacists and pharmacy residents. The experience of presenting at a national meeting will surely serve these emerging practitioners well as they begin their careers in pharmacy. In the abstracts, “NA” denotes that the information was not available when the abstract was prepared or not applicable. Encore presentations—papers presented previously at other meetings—are marked with a special symbol (Q).
