Abstract
The APF Gold Medal for Impact in Psychology recognizes Philip C. Kendall for his groundbreaking work with anxiety in youth. Kendall had a meaningful impact in the creation of tools and materials to assess and treat anxiety in children and youth, which have been translated into over a dozen languages and are used as a standard of treatment across the globe. Furthermore, Dr. Kendall has demonstrated a seamless integration of research and treatment, to the point of expanding clinical research methodology as he adapted his treatments to improve outcomes.
