Abstract

The near infrared exited Raman scattering provides, because of very different resonant condition, new informations on high T c cuprate systems with respect to the usual visible excited one. In this paper the Raman scattering of MBa2Cu3O6+x (M = Y, Er) is reported. Their results obtained at different oxygen content (O≤x≤1), with different oxygen isotopes (16O, 18O) and different annealing procedures are compared with those obtained by visible excitation. The peculiar behaviour of the apex O(4) oxygen atom in this system is emphasized by these results. In particular, the evidences for the existence of an anharmonic potential associated to the apex oxygen, the observation of electronic levels around the Fermi energy associated with this atom are presented.
