Abstract

A dual-band antenna array is designed, which is applicable for both millimeter-wave (mmW) and sub-6 GHz bands. It has a lower-band (LB) dipole antenna (operating at 2.5 GHz) and 16 higher-band (HB) mmW antennas (operating at 26 GHz). The LB radiators are designed as loop-shaped dipoles. The LB antenna radiators use the spilt rectangular rings (SRRs), which suppress the scattering in the HB. The low-scattering performance of the sub-6GHz antenna radiators reduces the distortion of HB antenna radiation performance. The proposed antenna array can achieve stable radiation pattern in both the mmW and sub-6GHz frequency bands.
