Abstract

A case of an aortoduodenal fistula manifested by intermittent gastrointestinal bleeding over a 2-month period is presented as a complication of renal artery bypass graft surgery. The clinical features of aortointestinal fistula complicating aortic reconstructive surgery are reviewed. It is likely that any arterial graft surgery in proximity to the gastrointestinal tract may be complicated by gastrointestinal bleeding from fistula formation.
