Abstract

Background and Introduction: Aortic stiffness, as a surrogate for central high blood pressure, is increasingly recognised as a novel risk factor in development of atrial fibrillation (AF). Aortic pulse wave velocity (aPWV) estimation is the recommended method to evaluate aortic stiffness non–invasively. However, no studies were performed to validate aPWV in AF.
