Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine in the context of daily experience whether anxiety or depression are involved in a specific minor events vulnerability. 88 adults students of the general population were included in this study. The mean age of this community sample is 22,9 years. The present study examined this link using of the Experience Sampling Method which reduces retrospective recall biases and increases ecological validity. The results demonstrate that while anxiety (and to a lesser degree depression) were significantly associated with the global severity of events, only depression was associated with the occurrence of specific types of daily stress. Based on this findings further studies have to examine the clinical implications of daily life events relative to the etiology or chronicity of these syndromes.
