Use of the Isonitrile-Nitrile Rearrangement for the Synthesis of 2,2,5,5-Tetramethylcyclopentanecarboxylic Acid, a Building Block for Sweeteners on the Basis of Amino Acids1) 2,2,5,5-Tetramethylcyclopentanecarboxylic acid (7) was synthesized in four steps from 2,2,5,5-tetramethylcyclopentanone (3).
