Abstract
Marchalina hellenica is common species on Turkish Pine forest in Aegean region. Its honeydew has great economic importance value because it is collected by honeybees and made into a richly flavored and valuable honey called "pine honey" in Turkey and Greece. The ant species utilized honeydew of M. hellenica beside honeybees. This survey was carried out on pine forest in Aegean and some parts of Mediterranean regions in Turkey between 2009 and 2010. Ant samples were collected infested pine with M. hellenica. Totally 22 Formicidae species belonging to Formicinae and Myrmicinae were determined that visited M. hellenica namely: Aphaenogaster subcostata Viehmeyer, Camponotus aegaeus Emery, C. aethiops (Latreille), C. baldaccii Emery, C. boghossiani Forel, C. ionius Emery, C. kiesenwetteri (Roger), C. samius Forel, C. sanctus Forel, C. truncatus (Spinola), Cataglyphis nodus (Brulle), Crematogaster ionia Forel, C. scutellaris (Olivier), C. sordidula (Nylander), Lasius alienus (Foerster), Lepisiota frauenfeldi (Mayr), L. melas Emery, Pheidole pallidula (Nylander), Plagiolepis taurica Santschi, Prenolepis nitens (Mayr), Temnothorax luteus (Forel) ve Temnothorax sp.
