Abstract

Ten ant species were found associated with 12 coccid species on various host plants in Turkey. These are Formica cunicularia Latreille, Camponatus aethiops (Latreille), C. sanctus Forel, Crematogaster ionia Emery, Dolichoderus quadripunctatus (L.), Lasius alineus (Foerster), Plagiolepis vindobonensis Lomnicki, Prenolepis nitens (Mayr), Tapinoma erraticum (Latreille) and Tetramorium ferox Ruzsky, (Hymenoptera: Formicidae). In the study new ant-scale insect association were observed. The coccid species visited by these ants, their host plants and localities are also presented.
