Abstract

ObjectiveIn the present study, we synthesis and charactierize the ring system with new 1,2,4-triazole compounds. The anti tumor property for these compounds was explored by evaluating their activity towards the tumors cells of breast cancer (MCF-7) and colorectal cancer (HCT-116). MethodThe fused system of five-member ring derivatives that containing the 1,2,4-triazole ring includes three scaffolds triazole-oxadiazole fused ring system and five scaffolds triazole-triazole fused ring system were characterized via (FTIR), (NMR) spectroscopy and (CHN) elemental analysis. MTT assay was used to assess the cytotoxicity of these compounds against MCF-7 and HCT 116 cells. Key findingsThe MTT test result toward MCF-7 cells designated that the 6A and 7B have significant cytotoxic efficacy with IC50 of 38 and 53 µM, respectively. However the other compounds demonstrated moderate cytotoxicity effect. In addition, the compound 8B demonstrated the slightest effectiveness. The IC50 for some of the compounds were out value range of cytotoxic activity toward MCF-7 or HCT-116 cells. ConclusionModified scaffold, the fused system includes 1,2,4-triazole ring based on the structure-property relationship helps to design more new effective fused 1,2,4-triazole system with promising in vitro anticancer activity.
