Abstract
Rabbit antiserum against purified tyrosinase from melanosomes of Harding-Passey mouse melanoma was obtained. This antiserum cross-reacted completely with the tyrosinase solubilized from B-16 mouse melanoma melanosomes. C57BL mouse hair follicle tyrosinase is also completely inactivated with this antiserum but mushroom tyrosinase is not. By the Ouchterlony technique, Harding-Passey tyrosinase and B-16 tyrosinase give a single precipitin line with this antiserum. These precipitin lines stained dark brown after incubation with L-dopa.
