Abstract

In this paper, the method to study the ground motion of isosceles trapezoidal hill under SH waves incidence is given by using complex function method. By introducing a region-matching method, the accurate model of the trapezoidal hill is established. In order to satisfy the continuity condition of each region boundary, a series of infinite algebraic equations are constructed. The unknown coefficients are solved by the orthogonal function expansion method, and the analytical expression of the total wave field in the region is obtained. Finally, some numerical examples are given, and the effects of the incident angle, wave number and different shape parameters of the isosceles trapezoidal hill on the ground motion are analyzed.
