Abstract. Liana, Murningsih T. 2018. Antioxidant activity, total phenolic and flavonoid content of Dillenia auriculata (Dilleniaceae) bark extract. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 5: 129-133. Total phenolic, total flavonoid and antioxidant activity of Dillenia auriculata bark extract were determined in this study. The phenolic total was determined using Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and total flavonoid content using aluminum chloride reagent. Antioxidant activity was carried out using free radical scavenging (DPPH), cupric reducing power and ?-carotene bleaching assay. Vitamin C, vitamin E and BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) were used as positive control. The result showed that total phenolic content was 19.70 ± 0.05 mg GAE /g extract and total flavonoid was 19.53 ± 0.08 mg RE/g extract. The IC50 value for DPPH- free radical activity was 32.28 ± 0.02 ?g/mL higher than positive control vitamin C and vitamin E, antioxidant activity by cupric reducing power on concentration 50 ?g/mL was 72,27 ± 0,03 % lower than vitamin C; ?-carotene bleaching was found 76.19 ± 0.04% lower than positive control vitamin E and BHT. The antioxidant properties may be attributed to the presence of phenolic and flavonoid compounds present in the extract.
