Abstract

AbstractThe interaction of Sb(III) and Bi(III) ions with N‐hydroxyethyl ethylene diamine triacetic acid (H3ZOH) was investigated by pH metric and spectrophotometric methods. Evidence is presented for the formation of the species SbZOH, SbZO−, SbZO(OH)2−, BiZOH and BiZO− and their stability constants determined. The compounds SbZOH · H2O, BiZOH · H2O and BiZONa · 4 H2O were isolated and their X‐ray powder data are given.
