Abstract

Tension impact during dynamical process would have a disadvantageous effect on tension control system based on permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) for flexible rope applications, and a novel anti-impact tension control strategy is proposed in this paper. The model of tension control system containing flexible rope and the reason for difficulty in solving tension impact by using traditional proportional integral(PI) control is analyzed. The proposed control strategy realizes the establishment of tension and the suppression of tension impact through the optimization of integration regulator in a PMSM-based rope tension control system. The simulation and experiment results from a tension control platform prove the dynamic performance and steady state precision of the proposed control strategy and show the advantages on the tension control for flexible rope applications.
