Abstract
We summarise our U x Y 1− x Pd 3 inelastic neutron scattering experiments and present new neutron diffraction results for a single crystal of U 0.45Y 0.55Pd 3. Long-range antiferromagnetic order is unambiguously observed below T N =22.5 K . In contrast, no long-range order is found in polycrystalline samples of U 0.37Y 0.63Pd 3, U 0.28Y 0.72Pd 3 and U 0.2Th 0.25Y 0.55Pd 3 but peaks in the magnetic susceptibility indicate spin-glass ordering in these compositions.
