Abstract

These researchers aimed to clarify the risk for congenital malformations in offspring of women with epilepsy treated with antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). Using a large, population-based database in Finland that records pharmaceutical reimbursements, available to all citizens, the researchers identified all women with epilepsy who were eligible to receive full reimbursement for AEDs over a 9-year period.
