Abstract

AbstractPrimary biliary cholangitis (PBC) diagnosis is supported by auto-antoantibodies (Ab) mainly anti-mitochondrial antibodies (AMA2) detected in 90-95 % of PBC cases. However, some cases of PBC are still seronegative and may remain undiagnosed. As early setting of the treatment is crucial, it would be interesting to find other auto-Ab. Recently, two new autoantigens, kelch-like 12 (KLHL12) and hexokinase-1 (HK1) have been identified using human recombinant protein microarrays. KLHL12, through ubiquitination of substrates, is involved in cell regulation. HK1 is a mitochondrial and cytosolic protein of glycolysis pathway. The existence of recombinant forms of these proteins would enable the possibilities of complementary diagnostic tests. Few studies have assessed the diagnostic value of these Ab in PBC. These Abs appear very specific for CBP (>90%) and Both Ab were detected in AMA2 negative PBC.
