Abstract

1. The tests showed that an installation forming a continuous low-velocity flow along a wall comprising a solid boundary of the tunnel and the high-velocity discharge reliably protects that wall against cavitation pitting under high heads. 2. A reduction in the cost is effected and the service life is increased for the different elements of tunnels, on account of the lowering of the requirements placed on the liner finish.
