Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of antibiotics combined with streptococcus pneumoniae vaccine in children with streptococcus pneumonia related diseases. Methods Eighty cases were diagnosed as the diseases associated with streptococcus pneumoniae from March 2014 to December 2015 were selected. According to random number table method, they were divided into the experiment group and the control group, and corresponding random numbers were even as the experimental group, odd numbers as the control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was not given streptococcus pneumoniae vaccine, but only given antibiotics to anti infection; The experimental group of children have been vaccinated with pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV), and also be given antibiotics. The daily clinical symptoms and signs: cough, expectoration, fever, lung wet rales, abdominal pain, the number of diarrhea and related adverse reactions were recorded, at last the recover time was recorded. The physical condition of children were evaluated before and after treatment: The urine routine, liver and renal function. Results Compared with the control group who were only treated with antibiotics, in terms of efficacy: the combined use of pneumococcal vaccine improved the total effective rate in a certain extent(P 0.05), the difference was not significant. Conclusions Combining with antibiotics in streptococcus pneumoniae vaccine can improve the cure rate of the diseases associated with streptococcus pneumonia in children in a certain extent, and shorten the treatment time, reduce the impact on children′s growth and development; at the same time, it did not increase the incidence of adverse reactions, so it is worth popularizing in clinical application.
