THIS paper reports another in a series of studies designed to throw some light on the combined action of antibiotics in vivo by controlled observations on the antibacterial action of blood after the administration of antibiotics to the same subjects singly and in combinations.§ The present study deals with the combination of novobiocin with penicillin and, like most of the others, was carried out in normal men given the same total amount of each agent separately or of both together in equal parts.
