Abstract

The initial step for colonization and development of urinary tract infections, commonly caused by uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC), is the adhesion to bladder cells. Therefore, inhibition of bacterial adhesion at early stages is an alternative approach for specific prevention. In this study we investigated the antiadhesive activity of extracts from the rhizomes of Agropyron repens L. against UPEC.
