Abstract
Two cases of subfoveal choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM) in the absence of other pathology are described in two young patients who were successfully treated with anti‐vascular endothelial growth factor (anti‐) agents. The natural history of idiopathic CNVM and factors influencing the decision to treat using various options are discussed. Current experience with use of anti‐VEGF is also outlined. Lastly, the importance of timely referral for thorough investigations to exclude underlying aetiology and consideration for treatment is highlighted.
