Abstract

It is well known that psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease that appears on the skin [1]. The systemic aspects of psoriasis have raised speculation for consequent disorders and recently it has been suggested that psoriasis is associated with cardiovascular risk [2]. In addition, patients with psoriasis present with enhanced inflammatory process as this is indicated by significant elevations in acute phase proteins including C-reactive protein (CRP) [3], proinflammatory cytokines [4] and adhesion molecules [5].
