Abstract
This paper is concerned with the solution of a mechanical boundary-value problem as there is longitudinal shear of a cracked prismatic orthotropic beam. If the magnitude of orthotropy λ 2 = solG yz G zx equals 1, the results are equal to the one obtained by Westmann and Yang.
